NAPSG: Establishing Excellence in Public Safety GIS

Welcome to the official Website of the National Alliance for Public Safety GIS (NAPSG). NAPSG is a consortium of national organizations which represent local government, public safety, and health professionals with a shared vision of advancing the effective use of GIS for public safety.

Here you will find tools and resources to encourage the effective use of GIS for operational support of local, regional, and state first responders working to enhance public safety.

Public safety agencies increasingly recognize the need for greater coordination among US emergency response agencies at all levels of government in the United States. A geographic information system (GIS) is a strategically significant technology for effective data sharing, analysis and visualization in support of coordinated emergency preparedness and response.

Through NAPSG, national public safety organizations representing local first responders in the health, public safety, and emergency management disciplines are collaborating to enhance our national GIS preparedness capacity.
